Check a Biz collects user submitted registration information such as username, password, first and last name, address and email address in order to identify you, your location and to send you periodic notifications related to the use of the Check a Biz service. Check a Biz only requests personal information to the extent we need it to provide the Check a Biz service to members. We give members the continuous option to edit or remove the personal information that they have provided to Check a Biz. Check a Biz also collects member submitted photos, images, comments, survey answers and ratings of local businesses and service providers.

Some information collected is not explicitly submitted by the user; we log browser-type related information, IP address, requested URL, referring URL, and timestamp.

2. How We Use Your Information

Check a Biz keeps all personal-identifying information secure and will never reveal the identity of any member to any business without the members prior consent. The review data contained in submitted business rating and review forms may be made accessible to the business being reviewed. We may also sell review data to third parties.

Your first name may be used when you send an email notification to a friend (such as in an invitation to join). We may also use your email address to send you occasional updates, newsletters or news regarding our site, but you can unsubscribe to any such communication at anytime. Additionally, we use your email address to contact you on behalf of the businesses that you have given permission to contact you.

Browser-type related information, IP address, requested URL, referring URL, and timestamp data help us diagnose problems with our server, administer the Check a Biz site and service, and otherwise provide the highest possible level of service to you. Check a Biz reserves the right to sell your reviews to third parties. Your username, profile photo, any submitted photos of businesses, and any personally identifiable information you have included in your reviews may be transferred to such third parties and displayed on their websites in connection with such third parties publication of your reviews.

Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, rent, share, trade or give away any of your personal information. Check a Biz will disclose information about individual users to governmental or judicial authorities or law enforcement agencies, or to other individuals or entities in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal processes. Further, Check a Biz may share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities or suspected fraud, or to enforce or apply the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.

Your Check a Biz account is password-protected. Check a Biz tries very hard to protect our members information. We use industry standard measures to protect your information that is stored within our database. We limit the access to your information to those employees who need access to perform their job function such as our customer service personnel, web developers and programmers. 8. Children

This website is not directed to children, and Check a Biz does not knowingly solicit information from any child under the age of 13.
